SUMMARY:Clergy-Spouse Retreat
DESCRIPTION:2020 Clergy-Spouse Retreat\n"Discerning What's Best"\n\nGuest speaker: Jim Franks\, M.DIV\, MACMHC\n\n\n\nPlan on joining us for the upcoming Clergy-Spouse Retreat February 16-18\, 2020 at the Days Inn & Suites\, Richfield\, OH. \n\n\n\nClick here for flyer and schedule.\n\n\n\nAll ordained\, commissioned\, licensed clergy\, interims\, and spouses are invited. This is a time to laugh\, time to learn. time for worship\, quiet time\, social time\, and free time. One day registration is available and 0.5 CEU's will be issued for clergy. \n\n \n\nJim Franks has been married to his wife\, Jeni\, since 1994. They have 2 children. Mikaela\, who is 23 and Isaac\, who is 19. He is currently serving at New Hope Church in Wooster as the Discipleship pastor and counselor. Jim earned his Master of Divinity degree in 1994 at Winebrenner Seminary in Findlay and his MACMHC in 2016 from Ashland Seminary. He currently oversees the church's addictions recovery ministry\, the student ministry\, the small group ministry and he counsels 10-15 couples/individuals per week. \n\n \n\nJeni works at the Wayne County Recorder's office. Her passion is keeping up with our two children. We are developing a passion for working together in these marriage seminars. We never really had a bunch in common\, so we're learning how to really thrive together. Since both children are out of the house\, we had to be reminded of the things we really like about each other. Now\, we are learning how much we love each other. Empty nesting is a very interesting process! Outside of our children\, her passion is baking for people. She does a nice little side business of baking cupcakes and other little treats for people's birthdays or other special days. \n\n \n\nJim shared\, "My passion is coming alongside people and watching them be set free from emotional and spiritual bondage. I'm tired of watching people with so much potential in their lives "tap out" because life got hard and they didn't want to put in the effort to work through the strongholds in their lives."\n\n \n\nJim wants to be remembered through the things he's taught people. As people learn and implement those things into their lives\, his hope is that they will pass their learning along. Jim also wants to be remembered through humor. He hopes people remember laughing with him so that his joy echos into the future through people he's been able to bless.\n\n \n\nThe themes for our sessions will be:\n\nDiscerning what is best in their relationship with God.\n\nDiscerning what is best in their relationship with their spouse.\n\nDiscerning what is best in ministering out of the foundation of these two relationships.\n\n\n\nJim and Jeni will share several tools we can use in our own relationships and with those we work with in our ministry settings. Some may be interactive so hopefully we'll have some volunteers!
